This dissertation examines the final section of the printed book Les loups ravissans […] from the year 1505. This work is attributed to Robert Gobin and features a Danse macabre that serves as an example, not only of a didactic text, but also of apocalyptic literature. This version of the danse includes characteristics of several different literary and artistic practices of the time, such as the motifs of ubi sunt and of the memento mori, among others. These elements are analyzed to prove that this printed book exists in a period of literary transition. Taking into account all of the variations present in this text, this dissertation aims to prove that Les loups ravissans is evidence of experimentation within the genre of the Danse macabre since the beginning of the 16th century, and that this adaptability allows writers to adjust it for their own means.en_US
