dc.description | Twenty-five bands of the B$\sp2\Sigma\ -$ X$\sp2\Sigma$ system of AlO with 0 $\leq$ v$\sp\prime$ $\leq$ 9 and 0 $\leq$ v$\sp{\prime\prime}$ $\leq$ 6 have been photographed at high resolution. The measured positions of the assigned lines of each band have been fitted by least-squares to obtain estimates of the constants (B$\sp\prime$,D$\sp\prime$,B$\sp{\prime\prime}$, D$\sp{\prime\prime})$ the band origin, and $\Delta\gamma\sb{\upsilon\sp\prime\upsilon\sp{\prime\prime}},$ the difference of the upper and lower state spin-doubling constants. The parameters from individual bands have been merged to single-valued estimates, as well as to polynomial representations in (v + 1/2). | en_US |
dc.description | New visible systems of red-degraded bands have been observed in emission from reactions of discharged helium with PCl$\sb3$, AsCl$\sb3$ and SeOCl$\sb2$, and assigned as $\sp2\Pi\ \to$ X$\sp2\Pi$ transitions of PCl$\sp{+}$, AsCl$\sp{+}$ and SeO$\sp{+}$. The same excitation technique with BI$\sb3$ substrate was employed for the observation of the a$\sp3\Pi$(0$\sp{+},1) \to$ X$\sp1\Sigma\sp{+}$ band systems of BI; the a(1) $\to$ X system was observed for the first time. Head positions measured from photoelectrically recorded spectra have been fitted by least-squares to obtain estimates of the vibrational constants of the states involved in the transitions. In addition, eight bands of the a(0$\sp{+}) \to$ X system and two bands of the a(1) $\to$ X system of $\sp $BI have been rotationally analyzed. Three bands (0-16, 0-17, 0-18) of the $\sp2\Pi\ -$ X$\sp2\Pi$ system of P$\sp{35}$Cl$\sp{+}$ have been rotationally analyzed. The determined constants include the first estimated spin-orbit coupling constants for both states. The reliability of these estimates is discussed. | en_US |
dc.description | Finally, the results of the reactions of discharged helium with PBr$\sb3$, and various other substrate molecules are also discussed. | en_US |
