Displacement and Shifting Geographies in the Noir Fiction by Cesare Battisti

Abstract

This article examines the recurrent theme of displacement in a series of novels and short stories by the exiled Italian author Cesare Battisti, both within a broader context of contemporary exile theory and, more specifically, in the current Italian and European socio-political context.

Cet article examine le leitmotiv du déplacement qui se trouve dans une série de romans et de nouvelles par l'auteur italien, exilé en France, Cesare Battisti. Il s'agit d'une étude de ce thème vis-à-vis de la théorie de l'exil contemporain et plus particulièrement, vis-à-vis d'une étude de la situation sociopolitique actuelle en Italie et en Europe.

In questo articolo mi propongo di esaminare il tema dello spaesamento, ricorrente in una serie di romanzi e novelle dello scrittore italiano esiliato in Francia, Cesare Battisti, sia nell'ambito di un contesto più vasto della teoria contemporanea sull'esilio, sia, più specificamente, nel contesto socio-politico odierno in Italia e in Europa.
