This internship report was written to report the work performed by the author in a timely manner. The author worked under the supervision of Mr. Jaimes Blunt, with help from colleagues. Within this period, two projects have been completed independently by the author, which are “Canadian Privacy and Security Standard for Electronic Medical Record (EMR)” and “Canadian Pharmacy Services”. The objectives of these projects were to identify the Canadian requirements, to capture the workflow in a clinical setting, to model the business procedure and to document the Canadian Standard. The deliverables are several business process model and notation (BPMN) diagrams and a business requirement plans for each project. Several lessons can be taken from the internship, such as gaining from the culture within Allscripts, general reporting, researching and writing skills and professional business skills. This report details the steps taken to perform the work and discusses the relevance to health informatics.
