Camelina byproducts tested were camelina oil (CO), high oil residue camelina meal (HOCM) and solvent extracted camelina meal (SECM). Growth trials using Atlantic salmon parr (initial weight: 8.4±0.2g) and smolts (initial weight: 242±46g in salt water) were conducted for 16 weeks to evaluate the effects of CO and SECM on the growth performance, carcass composition and hindgut histology. Total replacement of fish oil by CO was resulted in excellent growth by fish, and SECM could be effectively included at 8% in the diet of smolts and 10% in the diet of parr. Hindgut enteritis was found in fish fed diets with greater than 15% of SECM. Smolts (initial weight: 61.8±9.1g) in freshwater were fed graded levels of HOCM diets for 16 weeks. Fish growth was depressed by the lowest level of HOCM, 8%. The early stage of hindgut enteritis was detected in fish fed HOCM diets.en_US
